Preserving a Legacy

FINDING THEM…

Handmade items i.e. fabrics, wallcoverings, and plaster works are time consuming but very special and worth every bit of effort and cost. Whenever possible we try to insert handmade items into our projects. Handmade items bring a delicateness and specialness to a space, knowing that a real person created it. Preserving tradition is a human quality that no machine can duplicate. Working with interior designers that have partnerships with artisans already in place is the best way to achieve the best outcome. On a recent project trip to NYC we found several studios specializing in handmade wallcoverings, historical preservation, and custom plaster moulding.

MAKING IT HAPPEN…

We start with an idea, sketch or use historical photographs to convey the design… The process can be simple or very elaborate, which depends on project time and budget. Regardless, the end result will be a lifetime of beauty, quality, and timelessness.

BRINGING IT HOME…

When your fabric, wallcovering, or moulding is finished and ready to be delivered and installed, we request a studio visit to get our eyes on it or request images prior to packing and shipping. This important step ensures that the final product meets our quality standards and the colors or details are being properly represented. Be sure to ask the studio for a recommended installer or workroom that will handle and install the item once it arrives at the jobsite. The right person for the right job will ensure the item is carefully handled.
